100% Mother Nature
It is amazing to see what Mother Nature can do when left to her own devices.
The retirement of 70% of Stravon, the planting of some 30,000 natives, a huge pest control effort on its predators and proven conservation techniques have allowed Mother Earth to blossom and do what she does best.
The revitalisation and growth here over the past 20 years has been of massive importance to the conservation of the land and the quality of life of her inhabitants. The land will always endure but with the rejuvenation Stravon - the flora & fauna as well as our bird life has not only come back in abundance, it is now fair to say that it is flourishing.
Waking up to the 'dawn chorus' in the bush just as the land awakens is quite simply the greatest alarm clock that you could wish for. We are now seeing endemic birds such as the Kotuku & Tui - rarely seen in these parts now making their way to Stravon with far more frequency and it sounds just beautiful.
